Sanding and Prep for Paint

Additional holes fixed

Traced desired final contour

Using a dremel the shape can be rough cut

Body filer was applied to fill scratches

A pattern of the desired contour can be traced over the dried material. Using a dremel, the shape is easily rough cut. Sanding the shape down to the desired shape is simply a matter of elbow grease.

After sanding down the areas that were repaired, the rest of the shroud was filled with basic body filler to repair scratches that were caused by the rubbing of the factory spark plug wires. These wires had braided ground straps that were quite abrasive in the high vibration environment of the engine. After the filler was applied the entire shroud was sanded down using 220 grit paper in preparation for applying the primer coat.
